What we covered:

1) Theory/Glossary:
  • Fakebook, Chorus, Form, ii-V-I (these will be added to your glossary and reviewed at the next lesson)

What to practice:

1) Technique:
  • Long Tones (print from "Sheets to Download page")
  • Chromatics (print from "Sheets to Download page")
  • Low Slurs (print from "Sheets to Download page")
  • Tongueing (print from "Sheets to Download page")
  • Scales: we'll use a checklist at next lesson to check off memorized scales at different tempos
2) Method (Arbans, Rubank):
  • None this week.
3) Repertoire/Composition:
  • Four - print the lead sheet; practice with the play-a-long
4) Listening:
  • None this week.
5) Internet:
  • Trumpet Game: write down your high score on your lesson sheet
