- Fakebook, Lead Sheet, Head, Chorus, Form, Modes (e.g., Dorian)
What to practice:
1) Technique:
- Rest as much as you play!
- Expanding Long Tones, Expanding Chromatics, Slurs, Tongueing - Daily
- Scales: we'll use a checklist at next lesson to check off memorized scales at different tempos
2) Method (Arbans, Rubank):
3) Repertoire/Composition:
- Play along with So What at the 2 different tempos
4) Listening:
- Listen to "Namely You" and fill out the Jazz Listening Worksheet.
5) Internet:
- Trumpet Game: write down your high score on your lesson sheet
